Job Description

Job Title: Travel Contract – Computed Tomography Technologist

Number of positions: 1

Years of experience: One to three years

Shift: Evening shifts– 36 hours

Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: ASAP

JOB DESCRIPTION​​


Department: CT SCAN

Shift timings: 23:00 - 07:00 -Monday to Friday

Per Week: 24 Hours

  • Rotating weekends and holidays included.

  • Call only on holidays.

  • Please have all certifications (ARRT, BCLS) by time of submission.

Responsibilities


  • Using computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs and tissues.

  • Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies.

  • Performing regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes.

  • Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients.

  • Correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions.

  • Administering radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues.

  • Evaluating CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.

  • Explaining scanning procedures to patients and providing reassurance and support as required.


Qualifications

  • BLS and ACLS

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)

  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • The ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Strong technical skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Passionate about patient care

  • Requires a minimum of two years of current CT Technologist experience.

  • Graduate from a fully accredited Radiology Tech/CT Tech program

  • Active unencumbered Rhode Island CT Tech/Radiology Tech state license

  • One year of Epic experience

  • Accredited Registered Radiology Technologist

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
