Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a civilian Medical Laboratory Technician, at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, in Jacksonville, NC for Transfusion Services/Blood Donor Center This contract position offers: - 7 day work week-rotation (36 hours 1 week; 40 hours 2nd week) rotating weekends - 6 month days-6 month night - Competitive Pay( will negotiate on pay rate) - Up to 8 hours of PTO per pay period - 10 paid Federal Holidays-working some holidays - Sign on bonus offered Job Requirements: The Position will have the following requirements: - Graduation from a medical laboratory technician training program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). - Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT), or state licensure as a medical laboratory technician. - Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience within the proceeding 2 years as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Some duties include: - Accepting patient samples - Select appropriate blood products or transfusion - Perform equipment and reagent Quality Control - Use Blood Bank Management System - Troubleshoot testing discrepancies and equipment malfunctions - Communicate effectively with supervisors,co-workers, physicians etc. for proper blood bank techniques and procedures Company Overview: Spectrum Healthcare Resources (SHR) was established in 1988 to deliver systems and processes designed to meet the unique needs of Military and VA Health Systems.
