Job Description

Providence Mother and Baby Clinics is seeking a part-time Lactation Consultant who is either a Family Nurse Practitioner (strongly preferred) or Certified Nurse Midwife to join a well-establish practice located on the campus of Providence Portland Medical Center. In this role you will support recently delivered mother/baby couplets during the postpartum period in a lactation-focused outpatient practice. You will work closely with pediatricians and OB/GYN providers to provide post-discharge follow up of both mother and infant with ongoing lactation support for families who elect to breastfeed. This outpatient clinic position provides a regular predictable daytime hours only work schedule with a one-in-three rotating weekend requirement, two weekends off - one weekend on pattern. One winter holiday, one summer holiday and one "standby" weekend annually are required. Join us in providing the highest quality, compassionate care to patients in a welcoming community.

  • Part-time, 0.6 FTE at 3-days per week
  • Every 3rd weekend (2-weekends off/1-weekend on)
  • No call required, no after-hours beyond 6 p.m.
  • Open to new graduate Family Nurse Practitioner (strongly preferred) or Certified Nurse Midwifes with previous postpartum, or pediatric RN experience
  • FNP or CNM License, DEA licensure, PEARS certification
  • IBCLC certification to be obtained within 12-months of hire with financial assistance from Providence
