University of Minnesota Health is seeking Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist) to provide preoperative medical and surgical evaluations of surgical patient candidates.Complete direct patient evaluations and have oversight of phone assessments completed for patients. Conduct pre-anesthesia surgical assessment, history and physicals and psycho-social evaluations. The clinic is part of the new University of Minnesota Health’s Clinics and Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Position Qualifications:
A qualified NP or CNS candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist training program. Have a current Minnesota APRN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges. Be eligible or certified through ANCC / AANP and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges. Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
A qualified PA candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Be eligible or have a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Be certified through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges. Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous APP experience and possess clinic experience with complex adult patients. Previous anesthesia clinic experience is preferred.
