The pre-admission testing Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the elective perioperative process for surgical patients at Englewood Health in Englewood, New Jersey. This clinician will conduct preoperative/pre-anesthesia patient review of systems and/or history and physical on any patient undergoing anesthesia and communicate these findings appropriately. Other responsibilities include the ordering and reviewing of required laboratory tests, diagnostics tests and physical assessments and conducting appropriate patient education activities and interventions related to perioperative care, including, but not limited to, the management of diabetes, anemia and frailty. These clinical functions are performed under and in collaboration with the Department of Anesthesiology. This clinician must be able to work independently, displaying initiative, critical thinking and appropriate judgment, as well as work effectively as a team member in providing a collaborative approach to patient evaluation and care. Excellent interpersonal skills, sound technical skills and a knowledge and understanding of research findings to support evidence-based practice are a must. We ask that you be a graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program with certification and have a minimum of three years Advanced Practice Nurse experience within an Adult Medicine or have knowledge of perioperative services. Other requirements include a current New Jersey license and approved prescriptive authority in New Jersey.
