Responsibilities

Proud to partner with a hospital in central Michigan that has an opening for a Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join their team.

About the Position:

  • Flexible Scheduling: Monday-Friday, 10-hour shifts

  • Call Requirement: 1:4 beeper call, 7 consecutive days

  • Trauma Designation: Level II

  • Setting: Hospital and surgery center

  • Facility: 11 ORs in hospital, 3 ORs in surgery center

  • Cardiac Patient Volume: 300 annually

  • Cases: Open hearts, complex hearts, thrombosis

  • Support Staff: Full subspecialty support

  • Independent cases

  • Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)

  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • Active unencumbered Michigan Anesthesiologist state license

  • Graduate from a fully accredited MD or DO program

  • One year of work experience as Cardiac Anesthesiologist

  • One year of EMR experience

  • Board Certified


SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.

  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
