Responsibilities

A hospital in upstate New York has an opening for a Pediatric Anesthesiologist to assist their team.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-5p

  • 1 offsite weeknight call per week (~5p-7a), 1 24-hour offsite weekend call per week

  • Annual Volume: 11-12k cases (includes ambulatory surgery center volumes)

  • Patient Population: Neonates & older

  • Cases: General, ENT, ortho, uro, plastics, neurosurgery, pulmonary, ophthalmology, dental/oral surgery - no cardiac

  • 5 pediatric ORs, cath lab, 2 MRI, GI, CT scan, IR, and 2 ophthalmology

  • 1:2 supervision of residents or CRNAs

  • EMR: Epic

  • Board-certification & fellowship required

  • Paid travel & lodging

  • Long-term assignment

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)

  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • Active unencumbered New York Anesthesiologist state license

  • Graduate from a fully accredited MD or DO program

  • One year of work experience as Anesthesiologist

  • One year of Epic experience

  • Board Certified

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.

  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
