Providence Medical Group is looking to hire a Designated Institutional Official (DIO) physician (0.5 FTE) to provide leadership and oversight for all Graduate Medical Education (GME) operations. The DIO develops and implements strategies for continued GME excellence, and is responsible for the establishment and oversight of residency and fellowship programs sponsored by Providence St. Joseph Health, as well as responsible for ensuring compliance with all institutional and program requirements for the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). This position also plays a role in the development and implementation of the strategic plan for GME at the regional and system level. The DIO performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and the mission and values of Providence.
- This is a part time, 0.5 FTE
- MD or DO with board certification in any ACGME accredited specialty
- Demonstrated academic experience as a clinical educator in a teaching hospital or residency program
- Demonstrated success in developing, coordinating or implementing medical education programs
- Demonstrated knowledge base regarding current national initiatives and developments in GME
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness as a collegial and collaborative personality and a management style that embraces an "open door policy"
- Experience interacting with the ACGME or other educational accrediting bodies
- Experience with innovative educational methodologies and health care delivery systems
