Responsibilities

Partnered with a leading medical center in southeastern North Carolina with an opening for a Hematologist/Oncologist to join their team.

This position offers the chance to deliver high-quality patient care with the support of a dedicated team, all while earning quality benefits.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30a-4:30p

  • Call: 1:4 beeper call rotation, weekends

  • Daily Volume: 18-20 patients, 2-3 new consults

  • Patient Population: All ages

  • Setting: Outpatient

  • Cases: Full hem/onc panel, all general cases from breast to prostate

  • Case Split: 60% solid tumor oncology, 40% benign hematology

  • Support Staff: 3 APPs and 1 RN per physician

  • EMR: Epic

  • Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Qualifications

  • ​​​Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)

  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • Active unencumbered North Carolina physician state license

  • Graduate from a fully accredited MD or DO program

  • One year of work experience as Hematology/Oncology physician

  • One year of EMR experience

  • Board Certified

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.

  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
