Responsibilities
A hospital in coastal southwest Rhode Island, offering a short-term Nocturnist opportunity to assist their Hospital Medicine team.
About the Opportunity:
Shifts: Wednesday to Saturday, 6p-7a
Call: No call required
Setting: 80-bed hospital with an 8-bed ICU
Support Staff: 1-2 MDs, 1-2 APRNs, intensivists and tele-ICU support, and backup subspecialties
Census: Average of 50-60 patients with 4-5 admissions per night
Procedures: No procedures required
Codes: Hospital Medicine team responds to codes
ICU: Open ICU
EMR: Epic
Board Certification: BE/BC
Travel: Mileage, air travel, and hotel accommodations covered

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Active unencumbered MD or DO Rhode Island state license
Graduate from a fully accredited MD or DO program
One year of work experience as a Hospitalist Nocturnist
One year of EMR experience
Board Certified

Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
