Why El Paso Children's Hospital?El Paso Children's Hospital is a cutting-edge facility dedicated exclusively to pediatric healthcare. The facility features 122 hospital beds and a dedicated 13-bed emergency department (10 private rooms, including 1 resuscitation room and 2 isolation rooms).
Emergency Department Statistics:- Annual ED volume: 27,000 patients, with an average of 1.73 patients per hour
- 11% admission rate
- Medium acuity level
- Equipped with a helipad for emergency transport
- EMR system: Cerner
- Codes: part of the code team; physicians are expected to respond to codes anywhere in the hospital unless a critical patient requires immediate attention
- Nearest trauma center: University Medical Center
- Credentialing time: approximately 90 days
Staffing Details:- 24-hour physician coverage in the ED
- Advanced practice clinician coverage: 12-24 hours daily based on seasonal needs; winter months: 24 hours of APC coverage

Qualifications:- Board certified in emergency medicine (ABEM/ABOEM) or pediatrics (ABP)
- Fellowship-trained in PEM
