Responsibilities

Partnering with a group in central Virginia that has a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry position available.

Position Overview:

  • Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday

  • 1 admin day per week; can be used toward research, clinical, tele

  • Offsite call required, typically 1 per week and 1 weekend per month

  • Outpatient ambulatory clinic work

  • 90-minute intakes and 30-minute follow-ups

  • Daily Volume: 12-15 patients

  • Seeing 5 ED consults per week

  • EMR: Epic

  • Will accept new grads

  • Will consider J1 and H1 visa

  • Must be board-certified

  • Medical malpractice coverage

Qualifications

  • ​​​Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)

  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • Active unencumbered Virginia physician state license

  • Graduate from a fully accredited MD or DO program

  • One year of work experience as an Adult Psychiatrist

  • One year of EMR experience

  • Board Certified

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.

  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
