Responsibilities

An opportunity available for a locum Breast Imager at a hospital-based Breast Center in Western Oregon. This locum opening offers a structured schedule and a supportive environment dedicated to patient care.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday.

  • Trauma Level: 4 (No ER volume).

  • Focus: Dedicated Breast Imaging role—no general radiology duties.

  • Technology: Powerscribe dictation into EPIC with EPIC Mammography reporting.

  • Facilities:

    • Silverton: 1 mammography room, 2 ultrasound rooms.

    • Imaging Center: 1 mammography room, 1 ultrasound room (only screening exams performed).

  • Team:

    • 250 radiologists in the Seattle-based practice, with the Breast Imager serving as the on-site physician.

    • Support staff includes 2 daytime ultrasound techs, 1 mammography tech, and 1 breast navigator.

  • Role Support: Breast navigator assists in stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies and coordinates follow-up care for mammography patients.

  • Patient Demographic: Adult patients.

Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)

  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • Active unencumbered MD or DO Radiologist Oregon state license

  • Graduate from a fully accredited MD or DO program

  • One year of work experience as a Radiologist/Mammography

  • One year of Epic experience

  • Board Certified

  • SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

    • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.

    • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.

    • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

    • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.

    • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

    • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.

    Requirements:

    • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
