JOB DESCRIPTION
Department: General Radiology
Shift timings: 07:00-15:30 Monday to friday (5 Days/ 8 Hours)
Per Week: 40 Hours
Surgical x-ray techs to work with a radiology team of four (seven when fully staffed) exclusively in the ASJMC OR. They do a variety of general, neuro, ortho, uro, and breast cases using c-arms and portable x-ray units. M-F 0700-1530 M-F, and 2 weekends a month with a day off before and after each weekend. Weekend hours are 0700-1530 as well.
Responsibilities
Using computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs and tissues.
Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies.
Performing regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes.
Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients.
Correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions.
Administering radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues.
Evaluating CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.
Explaining scanning procedures to patients and providing reassurance and support as required.
Qualifications
BLS and ACLS
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
The ability to stand for extended periods.
Strong technical skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Passionate about patient care
Requires a minimum of two years of current Radiology Technologist experience.
Graduate from a fully accredited Radiology Tech program
Active unencumbered Oklahoma Radiology Tech state license
One year of Epic experience
Accredited Registered Radiology Technologist
