Job Title: Local Contract – Speech Language Pathologist

Number of positions: 1

Years of experience: One to three years

Shift: Day shifts– 36 hours

Duration: 13 weeks

JOB DESCRIPTION​​

Summary

Department: Speech Therapist

Shift timings: 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday

Part Time - 20 Hours per Week

Would like if they have Home Care Home Base experience but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing, treating, and preventing speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

  • Creating treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.

  • Performing screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.

  • Educating patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.

  • Keeping detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress.

  • Reporting progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.

Qualifications

  • ​​​​BLS and ACLS

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)

  • ​Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • The ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Strong technical skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Passionate about patient care

  • Requires a minimum of two years of current Speech Language Pathologist experience.

  • Graduate from a fully accredited Speech Language Pathologist Master’s Degree program

  • Active unencumbered and Speech Language Pathologist Iowa state license

  • One year of Cerner experience


Requirements

· COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.

  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
