Responsibilities
Partnered with a leading hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, with an opening for an Advanced Practice Provider to assist their team. This role focuses on managing high-acuity, complex patients within the MICU and providing cross-coverage for the Cardiac Surgery ICU, including advanced cardiac support devices.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Schedule: Night shifts, 6p-6:30a
Primary responsibilities: MICU, with cross-coverage for Cardiac Surgery ICU patients
Management of ECMO and Impella 5.5 devices
Care of post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients
High-acuity, complex patient care, including mechanical ventilation management
Occasional procedures including, but not limited to: Central venous catheter (CVC) insertion, arterial line (a-line) insertion, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, rare intubations
On-site intensivist support during shifts
289-bed hospital
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses

Qualifications
BLS and ACLS
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
The ability to stand for extended periods.
Strong technical skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Passionate about patient care
Requires a minimum of two years of current Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience.
Graduate from a fully accredited NP/PA program
Active unencumbered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Virginia state license
One year of Epic experience
Requirements
