Responsibilities

Collaborating with a facility in Dallas, Texas, with an opening for a Cardiovascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist their team.

About the Opening:

  • Schedule: Monday-Sunday, 8-hour shifts

  • Call Requirement: Emergency department beeper call

  • Setting: Operating room-based, emergency department

  • Endo-vein harvesting and ECMO required

  • EMR: Epic

  • Must be board-certified

  • Paid travel & expenses

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)

  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • Active unencumbered Texas Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner state license

  • Graduate from a fully accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

  • One year of work experience as Cardiovascular Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

  • One year of Epic experience

  • Board Certified

  • MUST have experience harvesting endo-veins, ECMO, and OR experience


SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:


  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.

  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
