Responsibilities

A hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, that has an opening for a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist their team with night shift coverage.

Opening Overview:

  • Schedule: 3x 12-hour night shifts per week (7p-7:30a) and every third weekend

  • No call required

  • Setting: Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit

  • Patient Volume: ~8-12 per APP per night

  • Procedures: ICU-specific procedures, including central and arterial line insertions

  • Will be working with an interdisciplinary team

  • EMR: Cerner

  • Must be board-certified

  • Paid travel & expenses

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • ​​​Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)

  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • Active unencumbered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Georgia state license

  • Graduate from a fully accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

  • One year of work experience as an ICU Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

  • One year of EMR experience

  • Board Certified

  • Acute Care certification required

  • Proficiency in intubations, central line placements, and arterial line placements

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.

  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.

Requirements:

COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
