Job Title: Travel Contract - Sonographer

Number of positions: 1

Years of experience: One to three years

Shift: Day shifts– 40 hours

Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: ASAP

JOB DESCRIPTION​​

Summary

Department: ULTRASOUND

Shift Timings: 23:00-07:00- Monday to Friday (5 Days/8 Hours)

Per Week: 40 Hours

  • ​Call is only required for holidays. Weekends and holidays are rotated.​​

  • ​Extensive OB/GYN experience is needed​​

Responsibilities

  • 3 years’ experience preferred Exams to include • OB • Pelvic • DVT vascular • Carotids • Abdominal • Retroperitoneal • Scrotum • Head/neck No MSK experience needed

  • Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures, records patient test results and reports results.

  • Monitors patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.

  • Maintains adequate supplies and verifies all equipment is in proper working condition; reports deficiencies and failures.

  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.

  • Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.

  • Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).

  • Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.

  • ​Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.

  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • ​​​​BLS and ACLS

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)

  • ​Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • The ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Strong technical skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Passionate about patient care

  • Requires a minimum of two years of current Sonography experience.

  • Graduate from a fully accredited Sonographer program

  • Active unencumbered Rhode Island Sonography state license

  • One year of Cerner experience
